Health Insurance
The German healthcare system offers two main types of insurance: public (also known as “statutory insurance”) and private.
Your workers can join the German statutory health insurance once they obtain a work residence permit. However, they must have some insurance coverage when applying for the permit. Since public health insurers generally require a valid residence permit before offering coverage, the best option during the application process is to secure a policy from a private insurer. After their application is approved, they become eligible for statutory health insurance.
Reputable insurance providers
Workers earning over €60,750 per year have the option to opt out of statutory insurance and choose a private health insurance plan. This alternative is often more appealing to single, young, healthy, and high-earning individuals as they might find private health insurance more cost-effective than statutory options.
At AUGSIGHT GmbH, we collaborate with reputable insurance providers to ensure you receive the appropriate coverage.
